About the Authors:

Katixa Agirre (Vitoria, 1981) has a PhD in Audiovisual Communication and lectures at Universidad del País Vasco. She previously published the short story collections Sua falta zaigu and Habitat, and is the author of numerous children's books: Paularen seigarren atzamarra, Ez naiz sirena bat, eta zer?, and Patzikuren problemak. She was also a columnist for Diario de Noticias de Álava, Deia, Aizu! and Argia.

Sara Mesa is the author of eight works of fiction, including Scar (winner of the Ojo Critico Prize), Four by Four (a finalist for the Herralde Prize), An Invisible Fire (winner of the Premio Málaga de Novela), and Cara de Pan (forthcoming from Open Letter). Her works have been translated into more than ten different languages, and has been widely praised for her concise, sharp writing style.

Lara Moreno was born in 1978 in Seville and raised in Huelva. She lives in Madrid, where she works as an editor and teaches writing. She has published two collections of short fiction, as well as several books of poetry, which have been collected, along with new and unpublished poems, in the recently-published Tempestad en víspera de viernes (Lumen, 2020). She was awarded the FNAC New Talent Award upon the publication of her first novel, Por si se va la luz (Lumen, 2013), which was followed in 2016 by Wolfskin (Lumen). She is currently writing her third novel, entitled La ciudad, to be published by Lumen.

Katie Whittemore is graduate of the University of NH (BA), Cambridge University (M.Phil), and Middlebury College (MA), and was a 2018 Bread Loaf Translators Conference participant.
